The problem

Shopify shows revenue. Meta shows spend. Nobody shows you the row where they meet.

Most brands at this size run on a spreadsheet that gets updated on the 5th, is usually a bit wrong, and never answers the only question that matters: what did we actually make?

-3.80 €

The hidden number

What your best seller makes per unit after ad cost. It is often negative, and neither Shopify nor your ad platform will ever show it to you. You have to join the two.

14 tabs

The spreadsheet

How a 70k € a month brand tracked profit before. Updated monthly, by hand, on a Sunday. Replaced by one screen that refreshes itself at 6am.

+2,100 €

The decision

Every dashboard ends with one written call for the month, in plain words. A number without a decision attached is just decoration.

One channel quietly eating the margin

Four ad channels, one blended ROAS that looked fine. Split by channel, TikTok had been under break-even for nine straight weeks.

DecisionPause TikTok, move the budget to YouTube, review again in 30 days.

Sample builds use demo data and illustrative brand names. Client dashboards are confidential; testimonials appear here with permission.

The monthly note

One page. What changed, why, and what to do about it.

Dashboards get ignored after week three. The note is what keeps them useful. On the 1st of each month you get a short written read of the numbers, in plain words, with one recommendation. Most clients say this is where the money is.

1st of the month
Plainview AnalyticsSeptember numbers, read in 3 minutes

Revenue up 8%, profit down 3%. Here's why.

  • Meta cost per purchase on Hydra Serum rose from 19 € to 28.60 €. That one product ate the extra margin.
  • Google Search is your most profitable channel at 5.9x and it is underfunded.
  • Repeat rate crossed 30% for the first time. The new post-purchase flow is working.
Do this in October: cap Meta spend on Hydra Serum at 6k €, move 3k € to Google Search. Expected effect: about +2,100 € net.

Questions

Things people ask before booking

What do I actually have to do?

About an hour in total. A short kickoff, granting read-only access to a few tools (I send a checklist), a cost sheet, and one round of feedback. Everything else is on my side.

What tools do you connect to?

Shopify or WooCommerce, Meta Ads, Google Ads, Google Analytics, TikTok Ads, Stripe, Klaviyo and Google Sheets are all standard. If you use something else, ask. Most tools with an export or an API can be joined.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Access is read-only, it is used only for your dashboard, and it is never shared. The agreement includes a confidentiality clause and I sign a data-processing addendum if you need one under GDPR. When we stop working together, you revoke access and I delete any copies.

What if my numbers don't match between platforms?

They never do. Meta counts the sale, Shopify subtracts the refund, Google attributes differently. Part of the build is reconciling those so the dashboard shows one number you can trust, with a note explaining the gap.

Do I need the monthly review?

No. The dashboard works on its own. The review is for owners who want someone to read the numbers for them each month and say what to do. Most clients take it, but it is optional and you can stop any month.

Where is the dashboard hosted?

In Looker Studio by default, which is free and works with your Google account. It stays yours after the build. Power BI is possible if you already pay for Microsoft.

"Before, I ... Now, I ... The thing I didn't expect was ..."
